VIII Estonian Champion - Erik Listmann

8th Estonian Dicefootball Champion Erik Listmann of Nõmme Kalju defeated Marko Mäekivi 2:1 in the finals.

’My strategy was reading the opponent’s game with a sixth sense, which helped to block the opponent’s shots’, commented Erik Listmann on his success. The winner could be really satisfied with the fact that in the 1/8 finals he defeated his teammate Tarmo Neemelo in a penalty series and beat Flora player Rauno Sappinen in the quarterfinals. In the bronze medal match Marcus Dartšišvili defeated Rait Talve 5:2. There was a record total of 46 dicefootballers, who formed 6 groups of six and 2 groups of five qualifiers, of which the best two would qualify to the play offs.

In the the play off action Gert Kams, Joel Lindpere and Flora’s head coach Norbert Hurt were 3rd, Joseph Saliste was 4th, President of Estonian Football Federation Aivar Pohlak finished last in 6th place.

As is the tradition the tournament was sponsored by A. Le Coq: both prizes and sportsdrinks for the competitors were from the Estonian Football Federation goldsponsor.
